Tampa, FL - August, 2006 - A Channel District Interior Design Store Is Teaming Up With A Local Artist For A Night Of Fun!!
One of the hottest urban design stores in Tampa Bay, District Designs, is partnering with a hot new local artists, April Paige, to create a showing of modern design meets modern art.
Two Tampa Bay female entrepreneurs are generating some buzz. Local artist April Paige and interior designer Jill Lifsey, have joined together for a night of interior design, original art, loft tours, music, wine and fun!! Festivities will include: viewing all the newest interior accessories at District Desgins, while April Paige's originals works of art, oil and acrylic on canvas, will be displayed outside. There will be group showings coordinated by Smith & Associates for viewings of the Victory Lofts & The Meridian and wine, compliments of The Rare Olive, cheese and music will be served.
10% of all sales from this event will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Jill's mother is a recent recovering cancer survivor and April's grandmother died of liver cancer in 2002 and both feel strongly about the cause.
April & Jill also join together in business to get the biggest bang for their marketing dollar. Starting a business is difficult in any industry but especially design and fine art. You have to be consistent and obtain a good reputation in the city that you are it. Networking and advertising help but finding a person or a few people that are in the same/similar industry to help ban together to get noticed is true gorilla marketing. Not only do April and Jill coordinating openings together but by utilizing a part time person that watches the Jill's store and who does paperwork or April, they both gain. "It has been a great opportunity partnering with Jill and we both are learning new things everyday. It helps that we are both open minded yet realistic about what can be done" says April Paige.
Jill who is the owner of District Designs, sister-in-law of Gayle Gyuardo, is an interior designer that brings the urban lifestyle to the downtown area. Jill travels to Atlanta and New York to bring the ultra hip, one-of-a-kind designs of the big-city life to the Tampa area for the most reasonable, and interesting accessories for your home. Jill carries everything from hanging wall art dividers to seat belt chairs. District Designs offers selections to accommodate lofts homes, corporate offices, private homes and more. Jill has an eye for space and design that helps her create a modern twist for any interior. Jill's store can be seen in the September issue of FLAIR magazine and has also been featured in the South Tampa Magazine. Jill has been commissioned to design some of the private lofts as well as the models for The Victory Lofts & The Meridian and used some of April's pieces within them.
April, an accomplished fine artist, has worked on several custom private design projects with Jill and exhibits at many of the local art shows from October through May. This year she will be exhibiting at the Hyde Park Art Festival, Dunedin Art Harvest and more. April targets interior designers, corporations, restaurants, medical offices/hospitals, churches and the individual collectors. A native of the Tampa Bay area, her heritage in Ybor consists of lectors and Guava Queens. April runs her studio out of her home in Dunedin, FL but is searching for a new home/studio in the Tampa area. April launched her web site in July 2005: www.aprilpaige.net and just recently posted her paintings internationally on Ebay. She has been commissioned for local illustrations and collaborating on several children's books.
