FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
A Change Of Art
Tampa, FL - July, 2005 - "A Change Of Art"- July 19, 2005 - Corporate marketer turned artist. When April
Paige found herself laid off after yet another corporate merger she decided to go after
her life's dream and become a full time fine artist.
"I have always been creative and always painted for my own satisfaction but never
thought that I could make a living at being an artist."
April has been a marketing manager, director and consultant for 13+ years and was
recently laid off from Chase Education First due to the merger of Bank One and
Chase. This is the third merger she has been involved with in her career.
April knew that now was the time to use her marketing experience to focus on
promoting herself as an artist.
"I have always marketed for others with success but turning my skills to market
myself has been interesting. This is the perfect mix of my marketing skills and by
artistic ability."
The 35-year-old is running her fine arts business out of her home in Dunedin, FL. Her
living room has become her studio.
"I am definitely out growing my space and having my studio in my living room has
been difficult but worth it. I am up for the challenge."
April Paige is a true Floridian. She was born and raised in Sarasota, FL and is of
Cuban decent. Her heritage and roots are in Tampa. Her family history consists of
cigar makers, lectors in the factories of Ybor City and a Guava Queen.
April studied formally at the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota and has developed
some self taught techniques. Her medium is Acrylic on canvas - sizes ranging from
12x24 to 40x68. She is known for her unique style, the simplicity of her paintings, as
well as the drama of her color choices. Her backgrounds are used minimally as to not
distract from the subject while her composition and unique perspectives are forefront.
"My goal is to bring something interesting to the viewer. A moment, a memory, a
unique perspective, a laugh......"
April is targeting interior designers, corporations, restaurants, medical
offices/hospitals and the individual collector.
Along with her painting she is currently working with a friend/writer on illustrations for
a children's book. Completion scheduled in August of 2005.
April has mandated that any original purchased from her will automatically donate
10% of the sale to the charity of the purchasers choice. She is also contributing 1
painting per quarter to charity.
She just recently launched her new web site in July 2005 - www.aprilpaige.com.
